Our verdict on Sugar Defender

What we liked

  • The full ingredient list is published on the vendor label image.
  • Liquid dropper, so there are no pills to swallow.
  • 60-day refund window, sold through ClickBank, which gives a third-party refund route.
  • Free US shipping on 3 and 6 bottle orders, and a one-time charge with no subscription.

Watch out for

  • Chromium is 0.7 mcg (2% DV); every other dose is hidden in a 200 mg blend of 22 items.
  • The blend reads like an energy and weight-loss formula, not a blood sugar one.
  • The label (1 ml) and the sales page (two droppers) give different doses.
  • Contains caffeine sources (guarana, green tea) and glycyrrhizin from licorice.
  • Gymnema can add to the effect of diabetes medicines, with a low blood sugar risk.
  • BBB rating F, the refund needs an RMA and return shipping at your cost, and the cheapest order is $167.95 delivered.

TonicNest may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. That does not change what we report.

Sugar Defender is a liquid dropper supplement sold as a blood sugar support formula, and its own label gives little reason to expect a blood sugar effect. The Supplement Facts panel lists chromium at 0.7 mcg, or 2% of the Daily Value[2]. Chromium trials used 200 to 1,000 mcg a day[9].

Every other ingredient sits inside a 200 mg proprietary blend of 22 items with no individual amounts. If you take medicine for diabetes, talk to your doctor before you try it.

What is Sugar Defender and what does the vendor claim?

The label sets a 1 ml serving with 60 servings per bottle and says "Adults, take 1mL a day"[2]. The sales page and FAQ tell buyers to take "two full droppers under your tongue in the morning before breakfast"[1][4]. The vendor prices each bottle as a 30-day supply.

ClickBank is the retailer at sugardefender24.com (vendor ID sugardef), so card statements read CLKBANK*SugarDefense. A second funnel at sugardefender.com sells the product through BuyGoods[22]. The label names sugardefender.com in Aurora, Colorado as distributor, at a fulfillment warehouse address. The sugardefender24.com domain was registered on December 20, 2023.

Who might consider Sugar Defender, and who should not?

Sugar Defender may suit a healthy adult with no diabetes diagnosis who wants a liquid supplement, accepts that most doses are hidden, and is ready to use the 60-day refund if it does nothing. It is no substitute for a blood test or a diabetes care plan from a doctor.

Skip it, or ask a doctor first, if any of these apply:

  • You are under 18. The label says it is not intended for you[2].
  • You are pregnant, nursing or take any medicine. The label asks you to see a physician[2].
  • You use insulin or glucose-lowering drugs. Gymnema can add to their effect[11].
  • You have high blood pressure, heart or kidney disease. Licorice glycyrrhizin is a poor fit[15].
  • You take drugs that grapefruit affects, such as some statins[17].
  • You are sensitive to caffeine.

If you suspect high blood sugar, get it tested. A supplement cannot tell you where your numbers stand.

How does Sugar Defender claim to work?

The vendor says Sugar Defender works through a "fat-burning metabolism for perfect blood sugar", but no published trial of the finished product exists that we could find. The claim rests on short captions next to each ingredient on the sales page[1]:

  • Chromium "Controls Blood Glucose Levels"
  • Ginseng "Supports Healthy Blood Glucose"
  • Gymnema "Supports Healthy Heart & Blood Sugar"
  • Coleus "Fat Burning Aid" and African Mango "Fat Burning Agent"
  • Guarana "Stimulates Your Metabolism"

Half of those captions are about fat burning. The contact FAQ adds that people take it for "smooth digestion" and "a healthy inflammatory response"[4], wording that has nothing to do with blood sugar and looks copied from another product.

The vendor lists 21 reference titles without links and says it is not affiliated with any of them[1]. We look at the evidence in detail in does Sugar Defender work.

What ingredients are in Sugar Defender?

Sugar Defender contains chromium picolinate (0.7 mcg) plus a 200 mg proprietary blend of 22 items, in a base of deionized water, organic citrus extract, natural flavors, stevia and xylitol[2]. Split 22 ways, the blend averages about 9 mg per item.

The sales page promotes "8 Carefully-Selected Ingredients". The other 15 label items, including raspberry ketones, green tea, capsicum, grapefruit seed, licorice glycyrrhizinate and seven amino acids, go unmentioned in the sales copy[1].

Does Sugar Defender work for blood sugar?

There is no good evidence that Sugar Defender lowers blood sugar. No published trial of the finished product turned up, and the two ingredients with real glucose research appear at doses far below what studies used. Here is the evidence ladder, from weakest link to strongest:

  1. Plausibility. Chromium and gymnema both have glucose research, so the idea is not absurd on its face.
  2. Ingredient doses. Gymnema trials used 200 to 1,000 mg of extract a day[11]. The whole Sugar Defender blend is 200 mg shared by 22 items, so gymnema alone almost certainly sits below the lowest studied dose. Chromium at 0.7 mcg is about 2 to 3% of the adult Adequate Intake of 25 to 35 mcg[9].
  3. Chromium evidence. A Cochrane analysis found "no current, reliable evidence" for chromium and weight loss[10].
  4. Finished product. No trial of Sugar Defender itself was found.

The vendor says "Most people start feeling a difference after the first week" and that best results take "3 months (or longer)"[1]. It also shows a testimonial about getting off "prescription sugar meds". Never stop or change a diabetes medicine because of a supplement. Change your dose only with your doctor.

Sugar Defender side effects: who should ask a doctor first?

Sugar Defender side effects come mainly from its caffeine sources, licorice glycyrrhizin and gymnema. Anyone on blood pressure, heart, diabetes or blood-thinning medicine should ask a doctor first, because the label hides how much of each item you get.

  • Guarana and green tea: caffeine can cause jitteriness, insomnia and a faster heart rate. The FDA puts 400 mg a day as the level not generally linked to problems for most adults[16], but the label gives no caffeine amount.
  • Glycyrrhizin: raises blood pressure and lowers potassium with regular use; interacts with diuretics, digoxin, corticosteroids and blood pressure drugs[14][15].
  • Gymnema: low blood sugar risk with insulin or diabetes drugs; rare liver injury reports[12].
  • Grapefruit seed: may raise blood levels of some statins and heart drugs[17].
  • Eleuthero and coleus: caution with digoxin, blood pressure drugs and anticoagulants[30][31].
  • Xylitol: toxic to dogs. Keep bottles away from pets.

See a doctor right away if you notice:

  • Shaking, sweating or confusion, which can signal low blood sugar
  • Chest pain, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or fainting
  • Yellow skin or eyes, or dark urine
  • Swelling of the face, lips or throat, or trouble breathing

More detail is in Sugar Defender side effects.

What do Sugar Defender complaints and buyer reports show?

The public record is thin but not clean. The Better Business Bureau lists one "Sugar Defender" profile in Aurora, Colorado with an F rating, not accredited[6]. The profile blocked access on October 19, 2026, so we could not read the complaint text.

That rating conflicts with the vendor FAQ line "we have not received a single complaint yet"[1]. The vendor also says "Our customers say 4.98/5 based on 2000+ reviews" without naming a platform.

  • FDA adverse event database (CAERS): 2 reports name Sugar Defender. One from May 31, 2024 lists increased blood glucose and HbA1c. One from July 23, 2024 lists a cardiac disorder and insomnia, alongside other supplements[7]. Reports do not prove the product caused anything.
  • FDA recalls: none found in openFDA[8].
  • Trustpilot: NOT checked (pages were not retrievable).
  • FDA warning letters and FTC actions: NOT checked.

See Sugar Defender complaints for the full record.

How much does Sugar Defender cost?

Sugar Defender costs $167.95 for 2 bottles with shipping, $207 for 3 bottles and $294 for 6 bottles, checked October 19, 2026 on the ClickBank order page[1]. There is no single-bottle option. Each order is a one-time charge, not a subscription.

PackagePer bottleBottles priceUS shippingTotalPer day at 2 droppers
2 bottles$79$158$9.95$167.95$2.80
3 bottles$69$207Free$207$2.30
6 bottles$49$294Free$294$1.63

Prices checked October 19, 2026. At the label's 1 ml a day, the daily cost is half the figure shown, because one bottle lasts 60 days instead of 30.

The 3 and 6 bottle packages add two e-books, "The Ultimate Tea Remedies" and "Learn How to Manage Diabetes". The vendor says "96% Of Customers Order 6 Bottles", with no source. We could not capture the upsell pages, so decline any add-on you did not plan to buy.

What is the Sugar Defender refund policy?

Sugar Defender has a 60-day money-back guarantee, but you must request an RMA and pay return shipping. The return page sets these steps[3]:

  1. Email support for an RMA within 60 days of purchase.
  2. Ship within 14 days of getting the RMA, at your own cost, to 19655 E 35th Dr #100, Aurora CO 80011.
  3. Send the product in good physical condition and wait for inspection.

The order page promises a refund "within 48 hours of the product being returned"[1]; the return page gives no timeline. The same return page says "sale items cannot be refunded", which conflicts with the "No Questions Asked" promise. Refused deliveries lose the shipping cost[5]. ClickBank also takes refund requests at clkbank.com.

Where can you buy Sugar Defender?

You can buy Sugar Defender through the vendor's ClickBank checkout at sugardefender24.com, or through a separate BuyGoods funnel at sugardefender.com[1][22]. Both routes ship from the US.

We have NOT checked Amazon or Walmart listings. A bottle bought from a third-party marketplace seller would not come with the vendor's 60-day guarantee or ClickBank's refund route, and you cannot confirm who packed it. Some copycat sales pages also show an "FDA" approval badge. Supplements do not get FDA approval before they go on sale, so read that badge as a warning sign.

The marketplace question is covered in Sugar Defender on Amazon and Walmart.

Is Sugar Defender legit?

Sugar Defender is a real product sold through a known retailer, ClickBank, with a published label, a support line (+1-866-994-8188, support@sugardefender.com) and a 60-day refund window[4]. The weak points are on the claims side.

The vendor domain dates only from December 2023. The distributor address is a fulfillment warehouse. The BBB rating is F[6]. The vendor says its facility is "FDA registered and GMP certified" without naming it, and FDA registration is not approval.

We set out the seller checks in is Sugar Defender legit, and our method is on the how we check products page.

Sugar Defender vs other approaches to blood sugar

A doctor-led plan built on your own test results beats any supplement for blood sugar, and single ingredients at studied doses beat a hidden blend. The table compares the options on what the sources show.

Gymnema extract at studied dosesSmall trials show lower fasting glucose and HbA1c[11]Adds to diabetes drugs; rare liver reports[12]

How do you take Sugar Defender?

The Sugar Defender label says "Adults, take 1mL a day"[2]. The sales page and FAQ say "two full droppers under your tongue in the morning before breakfast", held for 30 seconds, or mixed in water[1][4]. The label is the printed instruction, so it is the one we would follow. Step-by-step use is in how to take Sugar Defender.

Sugar Defender: final take

Sugar Defender may suit a healthy adult who wants to try a liquid supplement, accepts that 22 of its 23 doses are undisclosed, and keeps the 60-day refund date in a calendar. It is a poor buy for anyone hoping for a measurable blood sugar change, because chromium sits at 2% DV and the rest of the blend leans toward energy and weight-loss ingredients[2].

Skip it if you take insulin or glucose-lowering drugs, blood pressure or heart medicine, or grapefruit-sensitive drugs, or if you are pregnant or under 18. If you still want to try it, the 3-bottle order is the cheapest way to get free US shipping and a full refund window.

Frequently asked questions

How long does one bottle of Sugar Defender last?

One 60 ml bottle holds 60 servings of 1 ml. At the label's 1 ml a day it lasts about 60 days. At the sales page's two full droppers a day it lasts about 30 days, which is how the vendor prices it.

Does Sugar Defender contain caffeine?

Yes, indirectly. The blend includes guarana seed and green tea leaf extracts, both caffeine sources. The label does not state a caffeine amount, so you cannot count it against the FDA's 400 mg a day figure for most adults.

Can I take Sugar Defender with diabetes medicine?

Ask your doctor first. The blend contains gymnema, which can add to the effect of insulin and other glucose-lowering drugs and raise the risk of low blood sugar. Never stop or cut a prescribed diabetes medicine because of a supplement.

Is Sugar Defender approved by the FDA?

No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before sale. The vendor says it uses an FDA registered and GMP certified facility but does not name it, and registration is not approval. Badges showing FDA approval on copycat pages are false.

Is Sugar Defender a subscription?

No. The ClickBank order is a one-time charge for 2, 3 or 6 bottles, checked October 19, 2026. Your card statement shows CLKBANK*SugarDefense. Decline any add-on offers after checkout that you did not plan to buy.

Is Sugar Defender safe around dogs?

Keep it away from dogs. The other ingredients include xylitol, a sweetener that is toxic to dogs. Store the bottle where pets cannot reach it, and call a vet at once if a dog chews or drinks from it.

How long does Sugar Defender take to work?

The vendor says most people feel a difference after the first week and that best results take 3 months or longer. No published trial of the product backs either timeline, and the 60-day refund window closes before 3 months.

What does CLKBANK*SugarDefense mean on my card?

It is the billing name for a Sugar Defender order placed through ClickBank, the retailer for sugardefender24.com. ClickBank also handles refund requests at clkbank.com if the vendor's RMA process stalls within the 60-day window.

Does Sugar Defender have a single-bottle option?

No. As checked October 19, 2026, the smallest order is 2 bottles at $79 each plus $9.95 shipping, $167.95 in total. Free US shipping starts at the 3-bottle package, priced at $207.
